DIVERSITY & INCLUSION
At ASFB 2025, we are dedicated to fostering a diverse, equitable, and inclusive environment where all voices are valued and respected. We are actively implementing measures to support participation, remove barriers to engagement, and create a welcoming space for every member of our community. Together, we can build a conference that reflects and celebrates the full diversity of the fisheries and aquatic sciences field.
Quiet Space for Prayer and Reflection
While there is no dedicated prayer room onsite, a quiet alcove space is available for prayer and reflection. This area is located on Level 1 near the entrance to Auditorium 2 (Doors 6 & 7).
The Darwin Convention Centre Team can provide partitions to create a more private setting, along with comfortable furnishings to support your needs. The space is easily accessible via the nearby lifts or stairs from the Waterfront Rooms.
Please refer to the images below for the exact location, marked in red on the Level 1 Foyer map.
Quiet Space
A designated quiet space is available at the far end of the Waterfront Foyer. This area will be set up with soft furnishings and ottomans to create a comfortable lounge environment.
It’s an ideal spot for attendees who may need a break from the conference, wish to focus on individual work, or simply enjoy some quiet time.
Please refer to the image below to see the location, marked in red on the Waterfront Foyer map.

Pronouns on Name Badges
We welcome and support the use of personal pronouns. Delegates can choose to include their pronouns on their name badge by logging into the registration portal and typing them directly into the name badge field on the Name Badge page.
This is completely optional and helps us create a respectful and inclusive environment for all attendees.
