Alison King

Alison is an internationally recognised freshwater ecologist at CSIRO, with experience across University and Government research sectors. Her expertise spans floodplain river ecology, freshwater fish, environmental flows, fish recruitment, adaptations, and flow-ecology relationships, particularly focusing on the Murray–Darling Basin and northern Australia. A strategic thinker and accomplished research leader, she has a strong track record in collaboration, stakeholder engagement and knowledge translation. Committed to real-world impact, she works closely with policymakers, managers, First Nations communities, and other stakeholders to improve ecological outcomes and inform sustainable water management and policy.
